Mr. Kenneth Onyeoghani Azikiwe graduated from Edo state university, Ekpoma, Edo state, Nigeria in 1991 with a Bachelor of Microbiology degree. He joined the newly established National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in 1994 as a foundation staff of the Agency which was created in 1993. He has a post graduate diploma in accounting from the Enugu state University (ESUT) and an MBA from the same university. He is a member of the institute of food science and technology (NIFST).
He has worked in various capacities within the Agency across the country. Beginning from the Lagos headquarters an Admin officer in the then Directorate of Administration and Finance, he participated in the documentation of the staff inherited from the Federal ministry of health on secondment to NAFDAC.
Also, a pioneer team of the newly created finance unit where he worked in the salaries and wages section, maintenance section, banking operations, procurement and budget units of the Agency. As a regulatory officer he has worked in Oyo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Lagos, Ondo, Kwara states and was state coordinator in Jigawa, Kaduna, Ondo, and Kwara states, working in all these states, he oversaw pharmaceutical inspections and has vast experience in other establishment inspections. During his career, he won many recognitions and award, He was granted an accelerated promotion by the NAFDAC governing council in 2009 for impound fake drugs worth over 240M, He was awarded best performing staff 2009 (Jigawa state), best performing staff 2012 (Kaduna), best performing staff 2020 (SWZ) and Director General’s special award 2023, Before his promotion as Director North East in 2024
The various postings accorded him invaluable National experience in Good Manufacturing Practice, document evaluation, risk-based inspections, investigation, enforcement, problem solving, training, good accounting practise, human recourses management skills amongst other. He is a team leader and mentors and trains young officers due to his vast experience as a field officer cutting across difference geopolitical zones in Nigeria. She has attended several training programmes and seminars since joining the agency both within and outside the country. He has represented the Agency at National and International meetings and engagements.
