The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has been informed that Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department of Hong Kong on 13th March, 2018 suspended the importation, distribution and marketing of prepackaged macaroni from Australia. The recall was as a result of misleading nutritional content that could cause high cholesterol; increase the risk of heart diseases and obesity. The CFS stated that while the actual fat content of the product is 2.1grms per 100 grams, the label displayed 1.1 grams per 100 grams.

NAFDAC implores members of the public to avoid sale and use of this product. Anybody in possession of this product should submit it to the nearest NAFDAC office.
