The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is informing the public that the Chinese Authorities, on 9th May, 2023, suspended cosmetic production licenses of three (3) companies.
The suspension was due to violation of relevant regulations, quality and standards. The affected companies are: Huizhou Aozi Cosmetics Co. Ltd, Guangzhou Shangpin Biotechnology Co. Ltd, and Guangzhou Ximei Biotechnology Co. Ltd. The license numbers of the affected companies are: Yue makeup 20161248, Yue Makeup 20170553 and Yue Makeup 20161336, respectively.
Risk Statement
The use of these cosmetics can pose a risk to the health of people, since by not complying with the regulations, quality, and standards, the safety of these products is not guaranteed. They may contain harmful ingredients, leading to skin irritation, allergies, or long-term health issues.
NAFDAC implores importers, distributors, and retailers, to exercise caution and vigilance within the supply chain to avoid the importation, distribution, sale and use of the products from the aforementioned companies.
All cosmetic products must be obtained from authorized/licensed suppliers. The products’ authenticity and physical condition should be carefully checked.
Consumers are encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to the use of these products to the nearest NAFDAC office, NAFDAC PRASCOR (20543 TOLL FREE from all networks), via pharmacovigilance@nafdac.gov.ng or via the NAFDAC ADR e-Reporting platform available at www.nafdac.gov.ng
