About Workshop:
Currently, all Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient’s (APIs) and excipients used within our local manufacturing space for pharmaceutical products are being sourced abroad, there has been no local manufacturing of the API’s required for the manufacture of the various finished pharmaceutical products being manufactured in Nigeria.
This is why The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is excited to announce its first workshop on local manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients scheduled to take place on the 3rd – 6th October 2023.
This Workshop will bring together persons from NAFDAC, the pharmaceutical industry, and academia to discuss critical topics related to the development, analysis and manufacture of APIs and excipients.
This workshop is the first of a series of workshop to ensure that APIs are manufactured in Nigeria to help boost medicine security and enhance local manufacturing of quality medicines which will have a positive impact on the Nigerian economy at large.
Workshop Objectives:
This workshop aims to create awareness and build capacity for local manufacturing of APIs and excipients ensuring that the guidance’s of ICH Q1 and Q7 are well understood for effective implementation.
