The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has been informed that the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) had on 18TH September, 2017 ordered the recall of one batch of each of two Canadian made baby cereals of gluten (an allergen) which was not indicated in the product labels.
Consumption of gluten containing food by person allergic to gluten could cause vomiting, diarrhoea, asthma, rashes while in severe cases; the gluten induced allergic reactions could cause anaphylactic shock.

NAFDAC implores importers to ensure that they do not import the above products. All outlets and consumers in possession of these contaminated products should immediately stop their sale and use and submit them to the nearest NAFDAC office for appropriate action.
