The Clinical Trials Advisory Committee (CTAC) is an independent external advisory body, established in June 2019, to provide NAFDAC with medical and scientific advice on issues related to clinical trials. The CTAC offers expert recommendations to assist the Agency in making appropriate regulatory decisions, however, the decision-making responsibility remains with NAFDAC.

The NAFDAC Drug Registration External Advisory Committee (NDREAC), an advisory body, shall make technical recommendation and advise the Agency on quality, safety and efficacy issues to support NAFDAC in fulfilment of her regulatory functions. However, the decision-making responsibility remains with NAFDAC.

There is established a National Drug Safety Advisory Committee (NDSAC) made up of members that posses a minimum of medical and pharmaceutical expertise. Members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Minister of Health on the recommendation of the Director-General of NAFDAC. The Committee shall provide medical and scientific advice on current and emerging issues related to Pharmacovigilance. The Committee Chair shall be elected by the members of the Committee and the Head of the National Pharmacovigilance Centre shall serve as the Secretary of the Committee.
