Pharm. Kayode Isiaka Amuda is a 1989 graduate of Pharmacy from the premier University of Ibadan.
He joined the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in 2001 and has most of his work experience in Drug Registration and Regulatory Affairs Directorate specifically in Drug Registration Division. This has endowed him with a lot of experience in both local and imported drug registration processes and procedures.
Upon creation of the Drug Evaluation and Research Directorate, he was assigned to the Directorate in 2013 where he headed the Clinical Trials and Herbal Medicines & Nutraceuticals Divisions at different times. This also gave him the opportunity to have extensive knowledge of clinical trials and herbal medicines regulations in line with global best practices.
He contributed immensely to the development of several guidance documents on the regulation of clinical trials especially to address the clinical trial needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was also instructive to the development of the Clinical Trial Regulations and NAFDAC Good Manufacturing Practice Guidelines for Herbal Medicines.
He was appointed Director, Drug Evaluation & Research on 1st January 2023.
He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College for Pharmacists.
