PROFILE With a dedication spanning over three decades in shaping the Pharmaceutical and healthcare landscape, she is a seasoned professional committed to advancing public health and regulatory excellence. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Clinical Pharmacy (2019) and an MPH (2009), coupled with notable fellowship recognitions in the field, amplifying her strategic capabilities and global health expertise. In her current role as Director of Veterinary Medicines and Allied Products at NAFDAC, Lagos, she oversees critical aspects in the regulatory landscape:

  • Providing science-based advice and information on the quality, safety, and efficacy of veterinary regulated products.
  • Maintaining vigorous inspection oversight to uphold standards at NAFDAC is an integral aspect of her commitment to regulatory excellence.
  • Regulating the manufacture, distribution, and ensuring the safe use of regulated products.
  • Stewards scientific research to establish appropriate regulatory measures.

Her role in NAFDAC having worked in different fields/directorate and self development activities has trained her to be a polymath and with a sturdy experience in the regulation and control of NAFDAC regulated products such as food, drugs, cosmetics, water, medical devices, chemicals, veterinary medicine and allied products.

  • As Director of Kaduna Laboratory Services, she received the DG’s Award for Performing Directorate in 2020, showcasing leadership excellence.
  • As Deputy Director for Herbal and Nutraceuticals Division, she streamlined registration processes, reducing timelines, and implementing a track-and-trace system.
  • During her tenure as Assistant Director, she significantly reduced product registration timelines, demonstrating efficiency in regulatory affairs.

Her professional journey spans diverse roles, from Drug Evaluation and Research to heading Laboratory Services, reflecting versatility and commitment to regulatory excellence. Professional Memberships include being a Fellow of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN), West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy (FPC Pharm), Member of Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA), and Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM).

Awards and Honours feature the ALPS Merit Award Winner 2022 for outstanding contributions to the pharmaceutical sector and being appointed as a Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) Appointed Preceptor, acknowledging mentorship and professional development.
