Mrs. Adegoke Eunice Iyabowale, Director of the Vaccines, Biologicals and Medical Devices Laboratory Services Directorate (VBM-LSD) which was established on August 5, 2022. She has a BSc degree in Microbiology and a Master’s in Medical Microbiology from Abubakar Tafawa Belawa University and University of Lagos respectively. Currently working on her Master’s in Public Health from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.
She has twenty-eight (28) years of experience in the laboratory and received the ‘Analyst of the Year’ award in 2012 for outstanding performance and contribution to the Analytical Services of the Laboratory.
As the Quality Manager for the Vaccine Laboratory, she led the laboratory to its first ISO 17025 accreditation in 2018. She led the accomplishment of this feat within six (6) months of the laboratory’s expression of interest for accreditation. She also led the reaccreditation of the laboratory for five years (2018–2022).
She oversees the efficient administration of testing protocols, plans the Good Laboratory Practices initiatives, implements, and enhances the laboratory’s Quality Management System.
She was a co-author in the published paper “The Safety and Quality Evaluation for Lot Release Certification of Covid-19 Vaccines Imported and used in Nigeria from March 2021 To March 2022”.
She is a representative of NAFDAC in the African Medicines Quality Forum(AMQF). She is also a NAFDAC Affiliate Member Representative in the International Medical Device Regulators Forum(IMDRF).
Member of the FMH&SW National Laboratory Quality Assurance Team(NALQAT)for the Post Market Validation of Rapid Test Kits for HIV/AIDS.
She is a team leader who uses her extensive experience as an analyst to coach and train new officers. Since joining the agency, she has participated in several training courses and seminars locally as well as internationally. She has attended meetings and events at home as well as abroad on behalf of the Agency.
