Meet the Director South West (SW) Zone, Mrs Roseline Omohu Ajayi

Mrs. Roseline Omohu Ajayi

Mrs Roseline Omohu Ajayi is the current Director of South West Zone, Comprising of the following States; Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States.

Mrs Ajayi holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Ilorin in 1987, and a Master degree in Environmental Management from the University of Lagos in 2008. In pursuit of advancement in career she has certificates in Governance and Food Safety in International Food Chain and Integrated Pest Management and Food Safety both from Wageningen University of Research, Netherlands; and Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington.

She started her working career as a chemistry teacher, and training officer with the Industrial Training Fund. She joined the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control in the year 2000 where she rose through the ranks to the position of a Director.

Her journey in the Agency spans through several directorate beginning with the Establishment Inspection Directorate, the Narcotics and Controlled Substances Directorate (pioneer staff of Chemical Monitoring Division), the Drug laboratory (Head, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer and Cosmetics units) and the State office where she was exposed to the dynamics of the Agency and conducted all NAFDAC activities at the grassroots level. She was a State Coordinator of repute who encouraged and motivated staff on self-development and capacity building by her own example.

She had trainings both locally and overseas on GMP, Food Safety Management Systems and The One Health Approach to Food Safety, many of which are either self-sponsored or on competitive scholarships.

She has led inspections of facilities within and outside the country in the effort of ensuring that only quality and safe Regulated Products are available to the citizens of Nigeria

Mrs Roseline Ajayi is passionate about her job and due process in the discharge of her duties.
